The Strategic Assessment offers our clients an ideal vehicle for tackling a particular challenge or question. For example, through a Strategic Assessment engagement, your leadership team may ask that ST Advisors:

  • Develop a narrowly focused market evaluation, such as whether to continue investing in a recently acquired line of business that, while interesting, may not rest comfortably within your core competencies or goals
  • Create a presentation to effectively describe your company’s value proposition, expressing the complexities of your business effectively to outside audiences
  • Evaluate liquidity or sale considerations, such as when to enter the market; valuation strengths and concerns; likely value drivers; and potential acquirers, as well as other aspects of a potential transaction
  • Conduct an offsite discussion or retreat, driven by a detailed presentation that we prepare, exploring relevant and critical developments within part or all of the healthcare IT industry
  • Act as an unbiased “Devil’s Advocate” when an acquisition target is being evaluated

Focused and Actionable Deliverables


Strategic Assessment engagements are generally less research-focused than our more comprehensive Strategic Analyses, which are primarily intended to address enterprise-level growth strategies through in-depth evaluation of opportunities, markets, and competitive dynamics. Where a Strategic Analysis usually takes up to four months and involves a comprehensive slide deck deliverable, a Strategic Assessment typically produces a highly focused company overview, or 5- to 10-page memorandum, in approximately four to six weeks.
