Our Process
An ST Advisors’ corporate development engagement begins with a brief management strategy session in which we develop a deeper understanding of your organization’s current offerings, financial profile, value proposition and differentiators, and competitive landscape, and then collaboratively discuss the company’s plans for strategic growth. In this session, we work with your team to profile the ideal partnership or acquisition target, and develop mutually determined evaluation criteria to help filter potential candidates.
We then use our market knowledge, experience, and relationships combined with our proprietary, thesis-driven research process to curate a content-rich slate of candidate companies that match your strategic goals. Jointly-developed evaluation criteria are then applied to yield a prioritized list of acquisition and / or partnership candidates. After agreeing on the best approach, ST Advisors will then contact the targeted companies, determine strategic fit and level of interest, and facilitate introductions as appropriate.
Once the decision has been made to proceed with an indication of interest, our clients typically include us in the deal team, to supplement their internal resources and add our outsider perspective. In these cases, we serve as a sounding board and advisor to you and your team and act as a true ombudsman for the transaction itself. We continue to iterate on this process through the entirety of the engagement until we help our client attain its goals, or we jointly determine further work no longer makes sense.
